Hawaii Vacation - Nature up Close

After years of slogging it out in the concrete jungle of the metropolis, you might want to spend your well-earned vacation in some tropical paradise where the sun meets the sea and the sand. When you choose to have a Hawaii Vacation, you couldn’t be more right.

If you haven’t been to the islands of Hawaii, you’ll have some of the biggest surprises in your life. They will burst on you when you come and see the place the first time. It’s definitely more captivating seeing them and being there compared to looking at glossy pictures.

The feeling will grab you when you experience the sea and the sun while strolling in the sand. It will stay with you when you see active volcanoes and some inactive ones on your way to nature trekking.  Seeing some of nature’s grandiose sculptures of mountains and cliffs and shores can definitely take your breath away.

Places

The State of Hawaii is composed of six islands, each one having its own particular charms and characteristic beauty, even if they all have the same exotic feel altogether. First, there’s the Big Island (This is actually Hawaii, one of the islands in the whole state, which is also named Hawaii. To avoid confusion, they nicknamed it “The Big Island”.)

Then, there’s the famous Maui and Oahu and the smaller but equally pretty islands of Kauai, Lanai and Molokai. The archipelago is made up of volcanic island remains some seventy million years old. Today, the lush vegetation that covers them plus their natural surroundings makes them one of the most coveted vacation places on Earth.

Maui / the Big Island

Famous among surfers and other sea adventure players, Maui is a captivating experience even for its spectacular beaches alone. For city dwellers that can’t live without them, it also has a championship golf course, and some of the more fabulous shopping and dining places.

At the Big Island, you can experience the activities of two active volcanoes Maunaloa and Kilauea, complete with smoke and lava, at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. You can see how awesome the cycle of destruction and rebirth are done before your eyes by nature.

Still at the Big Island, you can visit the historic site of the invasion of Pearl Harbor. A boat tour can guide you to USS Arizona still resting under harbor waters. You can drive to Leahi (also called Diamond Head) and check out the remains of World War II with its bunkers and tunnels.

Oahu / Kauai

At Honolulu in Oahu, the city brings you all the amenities of modern life (luxury hotels, high rise accommodations, top brands shopping, an exciting nightlife and glorious food. All these right in front of some of the high-end beach resorts in the planet.

On Kauai, you can do your shopping for local clothes, artwork, and handicrafts. Up north in the lighthouse in Kilauea, you can watch the passing whales and keening sea birds. Go snorkeling at the corals near Anini Beach and watch sea turtles and rays swimming next to you.

As to comparisons, a Hawaii vacation is hard to top.
