Affordable Tropic Vacations

In the past, international beach destinations were once reserved for that wealthy people in town while everyone else hoped to scrounge travel money. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take a solid beach trip on a moderate budget attempt to compare the cost of a day at the beach in many places around the world, accounting for water, food, sunscreen, snacks, and local currency. Some of those spots are in hard-to-reach locales; others offer beaches a bit more on the rugged side than hot sands and swaying palms. But of the places you can reasonably fly to from the States and some, there are cheap tropical vacations which are exceptional yet cheap you can travel from to feel the relaxing weather and freedom of your spirit.

Queens Beach Nin, Croatia

The cheapest cheap tropical vacations to spend the day is Queens Beach, the rare uninterrupted 2-mile stretch of sand along Croatia’s coastline. After you’re done gazing out at the azure Adriatic, you’ll find a town quite worthy of your visit, with buildings dating back to the ninth century, cobblestone streets, and Roman ruins dotting the landscape. You can fly there and cash in approximately about $860 to get there $840 flight from the East coast to Zagreb, $20 bus ride. Hotels can be had for about $60 a night in nearby Zadar. Everything else you can cover for about $20 a day.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

The most famous beach in the Dominican Republic is also the cheapest in the Caribbean. Once you have reached there, you can cash on $20 a day. The beaches here are all the bright white sand and turquoise waters of your Caribbean vision, and only a few hours flight from most US cities. It’s also home to some of the best golf courses in the islands, and a marine park where you can swim with dolphins or play with manatees.  Punta Cana has been filled with some cheap resorts along with its famous beaches, and a hotel room here will cost you at least $150 a night but at least it’s a near, cheap flight. Fares from the East Coast often cost $300 below.

Valle Gran Rey Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain

The most affordable beach in Spain is on the western shore of the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands. The dark sandy beach sits at the end of a long valley shaped by imposing cliffs, which during the summer make a striking contrast to the blue sky. The small villages along the road make for a charming cultural experience on your way to the water. Spending a couple of days here feels more like a remote island escape than most of the other islands in Europe. Going to La Gomera needs a flight from mainland Spain followed by a ferry. Flights from Madrid cost approximately $125 and with the ferry about $45. Add in a hotel for about $60 and estimate $35 per day for everything else but you get a fantastic, cheap, secluded European beach getaway.
